Vehicular Communication for CAVs

Trace-V2X: Smart and Proactive Multi-RAT Traffic Steering for V2X

Connected and autonomous vehicles (CAVs) have the potential to improve efficiency and sustainability. However, ensuring road safety is a challenge, primarily due to the lack of robust safety measures.

The implementation of Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) communication can play a crucial role in addressing this challenge. With the support of Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, the TRACE-V2X project will set up smart traffic management for CAVs across various radio access technologies.

Its approach involves using massive sensing to gather data from vehicle sensors and roadside infrastructure and enhancing situational awareness and decision-making. The project will also develop security and privacy mechanisms. The implementation and evaluation of these solutions will be conducted using 5G testbeds and open radio access networks.
